Absorbable Polyglycolic Acid Sutures

SURCARPONE is a beige, monofilament suture made of Polyglecaprone 25, a copolymer of 75% Glycolide and 25% Є-caprolactone. It offers high tensile strength, excellent handling, knot security, and minimal tissue reaction. Ideal for general, plastic, and gastrointestinal surgeries, it absorbs fully within 90-120 days.

Absorption

he hydrolytic action by which the material is broken down results in total absorption in approximately 90 to 120 days.
The material retains approximately 30% of its initial tensile strength at the end of second week.
Approximately 60% of tensile strength remain after one week.

Contradictions

Cardiovascular surgery, ophthalmic surgery and neurosurgery.
Since it is an absorbable suture;
It should not to use when an extended wound support is required.
