Non Absorbable Silk Sutures

SURSILK is a black, braided, coated multifilament suture made from silkworm fibers with a wax coating. It provides high tensile strength, flexibility, easy handling, and secure knots for smooth tissue passage and support up to three months. Ideal for general soft tissue closure in surgeries like general, gastrointestinal, oral, gynecology, ophthalmic, and obstetrics. Not advised for urological or biliary use due to stone formation risk. Available in USP sizes 6/0 to 1 with multiple needle options.

Absorption

SURSILK elicits an initial inflammatory reaction in tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissues.

Contradictions

Since it is non absorbable suture; it is NOT recommended in urological procedures nor biliary tracts as this may lead to formation of stones around the suture.
Known allergies or sensitivities to silk.
